Description: A low tech installation to reveal the beauty of invisible air turbulence.

Wind flow is a low-tech kinetic installation that makes the invisible visible: revealing the quiet, untapped power of air as it moves through space.
The work is built around a radical constraint: it can be assembled anywhere in the world, following simple instructions, avoiding unnecessary travel.
Without motor or electricity, a grid of delicate 3D-printed modules, each balanced on a nail, reacts to ambient airflow. The grid can be adapted to different proportions to fit any surface.
At times perfectly still, the installation comes alive with sensitivity. Each element shifts independently, responding to currents we would otherwise not perceive. Wind flow invites a slow and contemplative form of attention.

Lemercier’s first kinetic piece has no motor, and doesn’t need electricity to function: it’s a grid of small modules that self aligns with the ambient air flow or wind.

Compositions that emerge are generative, shaped by the living environment. The installation is never the same twice; no composition ever repeats itself.
Formally, the piece draws inspiration from Inclinaisons (1971), a landmark series of plotter drawings by art pioneer Vera Molnár: grids animated by subtle angular variations, suspended between order and chance.
Beyond its visual poetry, Wind flow quietly points to something larger: the beauty and fragility of air currents, and the vast, underused energy they carry.
